FP7 Health Calls 2011: a large budget and support for SMEs

The New calls for proposals for 2011 published on 20 July 2010 by the European Commission in the framework of FP7 must allow significant progress in scientific knowledge, to reinforce Europe's competitiveness as well as to face societal challenges. The budget (€ 6.4 billion ) which increases by 12 compared to 2010 and by 30% compared by 2009, will grant € 800 million to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). For the first time, budget will be booked for SMEs in various thematics such as Health, Environment, Nanotechnologies and Knowledge Based Bio-Economy (KBBE).
